This agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Zoroo Learning Pvt. Ltd., K No. 1177/205, Arcadia Grace, Pattandur Agrahara Road, Pattandur Agrahara, Bengaluru, Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka 560066, India, which operates Zoroo Tuition and the ZoRoo Tuition app.

Our students are children. Where the student is under 18, the parent or lawful guardian who enrols them accepts these terms on their behalf and is responsible for the fees, for the conduct of the account and for supervising their child’s use of the app.

You accept these terms by enrolling a student, by using the app, or by paying a fee. If you do not accept them, do not enrol and do not use the app.

Accounts

  • Student accounts are created by our office team at enrolment. There is no public sign-up: a child cannot create an account without the centre and their parent.
  • A parent opens their own account in the app using the six-character parent code issued for their child, and can link further children to it after signing in.
  • The mobile number is the login, and one number belongs to one account. A number already registered to a student cannot also be registered as a parent.
  • First sign-in, parent registration and password reset are confirmed with a one-time passcode sent by SMS to that number.
  • Keep the password and the passcode to yourself. You are responsible for what is done through your account, and you must tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it.
  • Tell us when a mobile number changes, so that passcodes and fee messages do not go to somebody else.

What we provide

Zoroo is a tuition centre. What you are buying is teaching time with a human teacher, and the app is the companion to it.

  • Classes are taught LIVE, in real time, by a human teacher, on a fixed weekly timetable agreed with you before the first class.
  • Classes are NOT recorded. There is no replay, no catch-up video and no on-demand library — if a class is missed, the class is missed, and the remedy is a reschedule where one is possible, not a recording.
  • Online is the default and works anywhere. Some teachers also take offline or hybrid students, subject to availability in your city.
  • A student is taught either one-to-one or in a small group batch, as agreed at enrolment. You may switch later if a place is available.
  • The app shows the timetable, opens the live class link shortly before the class begins, carries homework and its marks, shows attendance and fees, and lets a parent message the teacher.
  • A free demo class is offered before enrolment. It is one full-length class, with no payment and no card details.

No digital content is sold in the app

Everything you pay for is a real-world tuition service delivered by a person at a scheduled time. The app sells no digital content, no downloadable material, no recorded course and no unlockable in-app feature; nothing is consumed inside the app itself. Tuition fees are therefore collected outside the app, through our payment gateway, in the same way a tuition centre invoices a parent.

Attendance, rescheduling and substitution

  • Attendance is marked by the teacher and is the record of record. The joining data the video service reports is corroboration only and never overrides the teacher.
  • Join Class becomes active shortly before the scheduled start and stays active for a short grace period after the end. The exact window is shown on the class in the app.
  • Tell us in advance if a class must be missed, and we will reschedule the slot where the timetable allows rather than let it lapse.
  • If a teacher has to cancel, the class is rescheduled at no cost to you. We may substitute another qualified teacher for a class, or reassign a batch, and we will tell you when we do.

Enrolment and fees

  • Fees depend on the grade, the subject and whether the student is taught one-to-one or in a batch. The exact figure is quoted by a counsellor before you commit to anything.
  • Tuition is billed in monthly cycles for the duration of the course. There is no lock-in beyond the cycle you are in.
  • Every amount is priced by our system from the course’s billing cycles. Neither the app nor the payer can propose an amount.
  • A payment link for the coming cycle is issued a few days before it is due, is valid for a limited period stated on the link, and can also be paid from the Fees screen in the app.
  • A seat is held for a short period after enrolment while the first payment is made. If it is not paid within that period, the seat is released.
  • If a cycle is not paid by its due date, and any grace period the centre allows has passed, the enrolment is blocked: classes stop until the dues are cleared. History, homework and marks are preserved.
  • A student joining mid-month pays for that whole month, whatever date they joined.

How payments work

  • Fees are paid through Razorpay, our payment gateway. Tapping Pay opens Razorpay’s own hosted checkout page in your browser.
  • Card, UPI, net-banking and bank details are entered on Razorpay’s page. They never pass through the Zoroo app and we neither see nor store them.
  • A payment counts as made when Razorpay confirms it to us. That confirmation is usually immediate; if it is delayed, the Fees screen shows the payment as pending until it arrives.
  • Receipts are available in the app as soon as the payment is confirmed.
  • If a payment fails, nothing is charged and the link can be used again. If money has left your account but the app still shows the fee as due, contact support with the payment reference and we will reconcile it.

Cancellation and refunds

You can leave at any time. What comes back depends on how much of the month you have used and which later months you have already paid for. The app computes the whole quotation and shows it to you before you commit to anything.

  1. Open Refunds and cancellation in the app, choose the course you are leaving, and read the month-by-month breakdown it shows you.
  2. Give a reason and submit the request. The quotation is frozen at that moment, so the figure cannot drift while the request is pending.
  3. A Super Admin reviews the request and either approves or declines it, and you can see the status in the app throughout.
  4. On approval the enrolment is cancelled and the refund is sent through Razorpay to the method the fee was paid from. Your bank usually credits it within five to ten working days.

What is refunded

The monthWhat comes back
The month in progress, attendance below 25%Half of what you paid for that month.
The month in progress, attendance of 25% or moreNothing. Attendance of exactly 25% counts as 25% or more, and is not refunded.
A month in which no class was held at allThe whole month, because nothing was delivered.
A later month already paid for, with no class attended in itThe whole month, in full.
A later month already paid for, with a class attended in itNothing — the month has been partly consumed.
A month never paid forNothing to return. The month is simply cancelled and no payment link will be issued for it.

Two points people are most often surprised by

A mid-cycle joiner pays the full month regardless of the date they joined. The 25% attendance threshold is measured against all classes scheduled for the month, not against those held so far.

  • Only months you actually paid for can be refunded. A month that no settled payment covers is cancelled rather than returned.
  • Attendance is counted from the register the teacher marked, and a class you attended that was later cancelled still counts as attended.
  • A refund is paid back to the original payment method. We cannot send it to a different account, and we do not pay refunds in cash.
  • Where a refund is funded by more than one payment it may reach you as more than one credit. If part of it fails at the gateway, we retry the remainder — you are never asked to claim it again.
  • The free demo class is free. Nothing is charged for it and nothing is refundable against it.

Homework and what you upload

  • Answer sheets you photograph stay yours. You give us permission to store them, show them to the teacher who marks them and to the parent linked to the account, annotate them for marking, and keep them for the period set out in the privacy policy.
  • Upload only the student’s own work. Do not upload anyone else’s personal information, copyrighted material you have no right to share, or anything unrelated to the homework set.
  • An administrator may remove uploaded content that breaks these rules. Removal deletes the stored images permanently and cannot be undone; the marks and the record of the submission remain.
  • We do not use homework photographs to train models, and we do not publish them.

Acceptable use and messaging conduct

The messaging in the app exists so that a parent and a teacher can talk about a child. It is read by teachers and, where they are brought in, by our support staff. Keep it to that purpose.

  • Be civil. Abuse, threats, harassment, discriminatory remarks or intimidation of a teacher, a student, a parent or our staff are not tolerated and are grounds for immediate suspension.
  • Do not use messaging to advertise, to solicit, or to arrange private tuition outside Zoroo with a teacher you met through us.
  • Do not share other people’s personal details, or a class link, with anyone outside the class.
  • Do not record, screenshot for redistribution, or stream a live class. Classes are not recorded by us and must not be recorded by you: other people’s children are in the room.
  • Do not attempt to reach data, accounts or parts of the service that are not yours, to probe or disrupt the service, or to use it through automated means.
  • One account, one person. Do not share an account or a class link with someone who is not enrolled.

Reporting, blocking and what we do about it

  • Every message is screened for abusive language before it is sent. A message that contains it is refused rather than delivered.
  • A parent or a teacher can report a single message or a whole conversation from inside the app, choosing a reason — harassment, inappropriate content, spam or a child-safety concern — and adding details.
  • We keep a snapshot of the reported text exactly as it read when it was reported, so nothing can be edited away afterwards, and a member of our team reviews every report within 24 hours.
  • A parent can block a teacher. Blocking mutes every conversation the two of them share, takes effect immediately, and can be lifted by the parent from the same screen.
  • Where a report is upheld we act: a warning, removal from a batch, suspension of an account, or ending an enrolment. Abusive conduct towards a child is not warned about — it ends the relationship.

Our materials

Worksheets, assignments, explanations, the app and this website belong to us or to our licensors. You may use them for the enrolled student’s own learning. You may not copy, resell, publish or distribute them, or use them to run a competing service.

Suspension and ending the service

  • You may cancel an enrolment at any time from the app, on the refund terms above.
  • We may block an enrolment for unpaid fees, and may suspend or end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms.
  • Where we end an enrolment for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused months in full.
  • Ending an account does not cancel fees already due for classes already delivered.

What we do and do not promise

  • We promise to teach with reasonable skill and care, to keep to the agreed timetable, and to reschedule a class we cancel.
  • We do not guarantee any particular examination result, rank, score or admission. Learning outcomes depend on the student.
  • The app depends on your internet connection and on the app stores, the video service and the payment gateway we rely on. We are not liable for a failure caused by one of those or by any other event outside our reasonable control.
  • To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to the fees you paid for the affected enrolment in the three months before the claim arose.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by Indian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 are unaffected.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page always shows when they last changed, and we will tell you in the app or by SMS before a change that materially affects fees, refunds or the classes you have already paid for takes effect.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them.

Please raise a complaint with us first. Most fee and refund questions are settled the same week once we can see the record, and we would rather fix it than argue about it.

Questions about these terms

Fees, refunds, timetable changes or anything else in this document — a person at the centre answers, not a call centre.
