Account deletion
Delete your account
Every ZoRoo Tuition account can be deleted, by the person who holds it, without asking anyone’s permission. This page explains how to do it in the app, how to ask us if you no longer have the app, exactly what we erase, and the small set of fee records the law requires us to keep.

Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest route and it needs nobody’s help. It works the same for a student account and for a parent account.
- Open the ZoRoo Tuition app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Read the summary, type DELETE to confirm, and tap the button.
It happens immediately, and it cannot be undone
This is not a request that waits in a queue. The account is erased as you tap, you are signed out on every device at once, and you can never sign in again. Nobody at Zoroo can restore an account afterwards, so if you think a refund may be owed to you, raise it before you delete — you cannot see the amount once the account is gone.
Ask us instead, if you no longer have the app
If you have already uninstalled the app, or you cannot sign in, ask us directly using any of the contact routes at the bottom of this page. We run exactly the same deletion for you — it is the same button.
What to tell us
- Write “Account deletion request” as the subject.
- Give the mobile number registered on the account.
- Say whether it is a student account or a parent account, and for a parent account, the name of the child it is linked to.
What happens next
- We call or message the registered number to confirm the request really came from you. This is the only way we can tell you apart from somebody else asking us to delete your account, so we cannot skip it.
- We acknowledge every request within one working day and complete it within 30 days of confirming who you are — usually the same day.
- We confirm by SMS to that number once it is done.
What we delete
The moment the deletion runs, the account stops being an account: it can never be signed into again, and everything below is destroyed or permanently overwritten. The replacements are not encrypted or hidden — the original values are gone, and nobody at Zoroo can read them back.
- Your name, phone number, email address and profile photo, including the photo file itself.
- Your password, every signed-in session on every device, and any one-time passcode still live.
- Push notification tokens for each device you signed in on, and every notification still queued to be sent to you.
- Messages you sent to teachers, and the conversation threads they sat in.
- Homework and in-class photographs you uploaded, including the image files in our private storage.
- Your parent code, and every link between a parent account and a child account.
- The enquiry form that first brought you to us, if one is still on file.
Our encrypted backups roll over on a 30-day cycle, so a copy of the deleted data can survive inside a backup for up to 30 days. Backups are never used to serve the app, and if one is ever restored the deletion is applied to it again.
What we keep, why, and for how long
ZoRoo Tuition takes fee payments, and Indian law does not allow a business to erase its books of account on request. So a small set of records survives a deletion — with your identity taken out of it. Each one is attached to an internal account number, not to your name, phone number or email, and none of them can be used to contact you or to work out who you were.
At the end of each of those windows the records are destroyed too. Nothing about you is kept indefinitely.
The same periods are set out in the retention table in our privacy policy, which also lists everything we hold and why.
Your classes and your fees
- Any enrolment still running is cancelled, so nothing further is billed to you and no more payment reminders are sent.
- Any payment link still open is cancelled, so nobody can pay into an account that no longer exists.
- Deleting the account does not itself issue a refund, and it does not cancel a refund already in progress. Anything owed to you is settled under our refund policy.
- If you believe a refund is due, raise it before you delete the account — the app is where you can see the amount, and once the account is gone you cannot.
If you are a parent
Deleting your parent account removes your account only: your name, your number, the messages you sent to teachers, and the links to your children. It does not delete your child’s student account, because that account belongs to the student and to their enrolment with us.
To delete a child’s account, sign into the student account and delete it there, or ask us using the details below and tell us you are the parent or guardian on record. We check that against the registered number before acting on it.

Ask us to delete your account
Any of these reaches the same team. Say “Account deletion request”, give the mobile number registered on the account, and we will confirm it is you before we act.
